Hair fall is a common problem. The average adult has about 1,00,000 to 1,50,000 hair on the head. About 2000-3000 hair are lost every month. 

If hair fall is more than that, this indicates a hair fall problem. Hair is made of a protein known as keratin. 

Excess hair fall may result in baldness or bald patches. Hair fall or hair loss does not cause any health problems but is distressing and embarrassing. 

Hair fall may be due to various problems or reasons.

Here we will discuss various causes and home remedies for hair fall or hair loss.

Some avoidable Causes of hair fall

  • Frequent changes in shampoo or soap may result in hair fall. Select a good shampoo or hair soap and stick to it.
  • If you use too much or too harsh shampoo, this may also cause hair fall. Select a soft shampoo and use a moderate quantity of it. While washing your hair, the quantity of shampoo you take should be according to the volume of your hair.
  • Your hair may fall due to brushing or combing wet hair. After washing hair, let them dry before combing or brushing.
  • Tying hair tightly may also result in hair fall or loss. You should tie soft knots.
  • Some people use too many different hair products on their hair. This may be a reason for hair fall. Try to use only one or two hair products.
  • Too much hair styling in saloons and hot air hair dryers may make hair dry and rough and result in loss of hair.

  • Medications like blood thinners, acne treatment drugs, cholesterol control drugs, beta-blockers

  • Pregnancy-after giving birth to a child, women face a deficiency in estrogen. This may result in normal or excessive hair fall. This is a temporary condition and may subside within a few months.

Here we will discuss the anti-oxidant treatment of hair using green tea. Green tea contains antioxidants flavanols, flavonoids, and phenolic acids.

  • Take two to three normal green tea bags and place them in a cup.
  • Boil a cup of water in a pan and leave for 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour this water on tea bags, shake the tea bags well, and let it be lukewarm.
  • Apply this tea water to your hair and cover your head with a shower cap or plastic bag.
  • Leave for one hour and then rinse thoroughly.
  • Repeat this at least twice a week.
  • Green tea contains antioxidants that boost hair growth and stop hair loss or hair fall.
Hot oil treatment to stop hair fall

  • Take some coconut oil or olive oil.
  • Mix to it some drops of almond oil.
  • Heat the oil to make it lukewarm.
  • Massage it gently on your scalp for a few minutes.
  • Cover your head with a shower cap or cloth and leave for an hour.
  • Rinse your hair using a good shampoo and dry it.
  • Repeat the process once or twice a week.

Aloe vera juice is very good for hair growth. Wash your hair with a soft shampoo. Rub some aloe vera juice on your scalp and leave for an hour. 

Some people leave it for a whole night for more results. Rinse with normal water. Aloe vera is a great natural herb with so many herbal properties. 
It contains 75 potentially useful constituents like amino acids, salicylic acids, vitamins, enzymes, vitamin B12, folic acid, choline, etc.

2. Indian gooseberry or amla

Boil an amla or amla powder in some oil. Let it cool down and apply it to your scalp. This prevents hair fall.

3. Castor Oil (Arandi oil)

Sesame oil contains zinc and is good for hair growth. Apply it on the scalp before or after washing hair.

5. Hibiscus

Hibiscus is a flower rich in amino acids, a prime building block of keratin. Keratin is the protein that nourishes and strengthens hair roots. 

It stimulates hair growth. Apply hibiscus oil or if you don't have hibiscus oil, mix hibiscus powder in any oil and apply to the hair.

6. Eclipta alba extract or Bhringraj
